Calling all Peace Region screenwriters

Just a few weeks remain before the deadline of the Peace Region Screenplay Competition.

Reel Shorts Festival Director Terry Scerback says they are looking for any screenwriters or film makers over the age of 18 to submit a screenplay no more than 15 pages.

“The top 12 will be chosen, and those screenwriters will receive mentoring for 4 weeks on how to make their screenplays even stronger. Then they’ll be judged and the winner will be announced on September 28.”

Scerback says the length is the only requirement for the scripts.

“What we want is something that’s feasible to make in the Peace Region. So if you’ve got something requiring an endless desert scene or something on the moon, we don’t have too many locales that would suit for that.”

The deadline to hand in scripts is August 17.

A table read of the winning script will be performed at the at the Reel Shorts Sneak Preview in September, and will receive a $2000 production package to fund the making of a film.
