Lantern tours could be back for 2018. However, the event will not be going ahead this year.
The lantern tours are collaboration between GPRC’s Fine Arts Faculty and the Grande Prairie Museum.
The drama program was not offered last term, but new drama teacher Michelle Rios is said to be enthusiastic about the production idea.
Due to that enthusiasm, Robyn Termeer, Programming and Events Coordinator with the city has high hopes for 2018.
“We met with the new Drama Instructor this month, but there just wasn’t enough time to put the event together for October.”
The tours were originally scheduled for October 13th and 14th.
In the past, students would work to create and act out skits that would help guide the Lantern Tours.
The South Peace Regional Archives have also expressed interest in assisting students with historical research.
