Rainfall warning issued for Grande Prairie region

A rainfall warning has been issued for the Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview region. Heavy rain is expected at times.

Environment Canada says a slow moving, low pressure system is going to stall over central Alberta for the next couple of days. Because of that, areas to the west and northwest will get a significant amount of rain.

By early Wednesday morning, portions of west central Alberta are expected to see 50 to 60 millimetres. The rain is expected to gradually taper off Wednesday afternoon.

In Grande Prairie, the forecast is calling for 15 to 25 millimetres of rain Tuesday, another 15 to 25 Tuesday night, and 10 to 20 Wednesday.
