Neighbour Day set for Saturday

Grande Prairie will celebrate its first ever Neighbour Day this Saturday.

The inaugural event will be kicked off with the handing out of Good Neighbour Awards at the Montrose Cultural Centre at 9 a.m. The winners will be recognized for their service and commitment to the community.

Following that, residents are encouraged to check out one of several gatherings happening in neighbourhoods across Grande Prairie. The City says the goal is to create an opportunity for neighbours to build stronger relationships.

“Many of the Neighbourhood Associations are holding events to bring neighbours together,” says Neighbourhood Association Coordinator Patricia Millward. “Even if there’s nothing planned in your neighbourhood, everyone is encouraged to go out and meet new neighbours, make friends and have fun in your community.”
