A new club for retired professional and business people has been started up in Grande Prairie. Former city manager Greg Scerbak says the Grande Prairie ProBus Club is for other retirees and those who are semi-retired to meet once a month for various discussions and activities.

“The Club will be simple in structure and free from the constraints and obligations of a typical service club,” says Scerbak. “That means no fundraising and no attendance rules and the cost of membership will be kept very, very low.”

Guest speakers will also be invited to share information about currents events in Grande Prairie and across Alberta. An information meeting will be held Wednesday in the Tea Room at Oliver’s Funeral Home. The meeting will start at 10 a.m., with coffee and tea starting at 9:30.

Probus is an abbreviation of the words PROfessional and BUSiness but membership is not restricted to these two groups. It embraces anyone who has had some measure of responsibility in any field of endeavour.
