City encouraging people to know their neighbours

A day in September will be dedicated to people getting to know their community. On the 16th, Grande Prairie will be holding their annual Neighbour Day. The city is encouraging people to do this by holding a block party, hosting a pot luck, hosting afternoon tea or help a neighbour with fall cleanup.

Neighbourhood Association Coordinator Patricia Millward explains that the idea is to make new friends and to have fun in the community. A proclamation by the Mayor will be read at the Montrose Cultural Centre at 9:00 a.m. that morning. Good Neighbour Awards will be given out that morning. Nominations are due by Friday, September 8th.
