Road work set to start in the county

Road work is set to start in two locations this week in the county. On Monday August 21st, you can expect to see workers out on the Correction Line. From Highway 40 West to Range Road 65, crews will be doing overlay work. This project should wrap up early September.

On Tuesday August 22nd, crews will be on Range Road 111 from Highway 670 to Township Road 730. Workers will be upgrading the road there. Work for this project is estimated to finish in mid-October.

Traffic may experience delays in these areas while work is ongoing. It also might go down to a single alternating lane. Drivers should drive carefully and allow extra travel time.

The County of Grande Prairie has put a total of $34.4 million into capital projects in 2017. There has also been $20 million added to road improvements over 2017 and 2018.
