116th Street south of 68th Avenue will be closed until the end of September. Reco Construction will be replacing the bridge culvert that takes the road over an offshoot of Flying Shot Lake starting August 21st.
The culvert just north of Township Road 711 and Thomas Mechanic Services was built back in 1963 and is at the end of its lifespan. The replacement is expected to last another 45 years.
Crews will also be taking this opportunity to do an asphalt overlay on 116th Street to the city limits. The work is expected to take until September 30th.
Range Road 63 will be open to local traffic only, other than the bridge site, where there will be no through traffic. A detour is available on Township Road 710 and Highway 40, and will be signed.
