25 year historical restoration project opens this weekend

The 25 year restoration project of the old one room Canuck School will be unveiled this weekend.
Fran Part with the Bear Lake Historical Society was a student at the school as well.
She says a group of Alumni decided to restore the school back in 1992.
“They’ve created a beautiful transformation of the school, and they’ve moved it to a new site at Bear Lake Park. It’s quite an amazing thing that they have done to paint it, and they had to shingle it, and to try and be as authentic as they could.”
The showcase will be at the Bear Lake park on Saturday from 1 to 4.
It will also coincide with the launch of the Canuck Classic, a 200 page account of the school’s history as told by local historians, alumni, and former teachers.
