Grande Prairie celebrates Heritage Day

There will be three locations to celebrate Heritage Day. For the August long weekend Monday, the Grande Prairie museum will have animals from Down to Earth Petting Zoo as well as carnival games and historic demonstration. That event will be going from noon until 4:00 p.m.

At the same time, Muskoseepi Park will also have celebrations going on. There will be cultural performances and displays as well as local and international food. Parking will not be available at the park from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

From noon until 5:00 p.m., the Eastlink Centre will be offering complimentary cold treats. People who go can also enter to win a free Flowrider pass.

Other city facilities will have hours impacted because of the holiday. Check their website for my information. Transit buses will be running on a Sunday style schedule for Monday.
