City Fire Chief Lemieux moving on to Strathcona County

After 27 years with the city of Grande Prairie, Fire Chief Dan Lemieux is hanging up his hat and replacing it with a new one with Strathcona County. He will be the Director of Emergency Services and Fire Chief starting this fall.

Lemieux says the move was about being closer to family.

“This is a great opportunity for us and it came earlier than we anticipated. I feel blessed to have had a very diverse career. The City has been a great employer that has provided me ample opportunity to grow and develop strong leadership and business skills.”

He began working with the city in 1988. In that time he has been the Department Manager for Facility Maintenance, Parks, Fleet Services, Transportation, Enforcement Services and Fire.
