Wildfire hazard moderate as smoke carries into region

The wildfire hazard in the Grande Prairie Forest Area is now moderate. There’s aren’t currently any active fires in the region, and this season less than five hectares of land has been burned. By this time last year wildfires had burned more than 139 hectares of land.

Smoke from the wildfires in B.C. is still drifting into our area and an air quality advisory remains in effect. People in the region are urged to watch for potential health concerns, and take precautions. Anyone experiencing symptoms can call Health Link at 811 to talk to a registered nurse.
