Grande Prairie Legion celebrated with tea

The Grande Prairie Legion is celebrating their 90th Anniversary with a traditional style tea. The event will be held on July 12th at the historic Forbes Homestead at 1:00 p.m. and a second one at 2:30 p.m.

There will be a pop-up exhibit is on display at the hoemstead to highlight the milestone. During the event on Wednesday there will be coffee, juice, tea and baked scones served.

It is free to go to the celebration but the museum asks that anyone interested send register with the Grande Prairie Museum. You can call 780-830-7090.

The building is located behind the QEII Hospital. It is open seven days a week from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A second tea event will be held on August 9th in honor of Agnes Forbes. She passed away in 1917. Reverence and Agnes were some of the early pioneers of the city. Their home is the oldest house in Grande Prairie.
