A Grande Prairie man is facing several charges stemming from a pair of robberies in June. He and two others are accused of committing an armed robbery at a convenience store in High Prairie on June 11th, and a robbery at a store in Valleyview on the same day.
26 year old Raymond Donald Mitchell of Grande Prairie and 25 year old Tamara Anne Baytha of Yellowknife were charged on June 22nd with armed robbery with a firearm and aiding and abetting related to the High Prairie hold up. Mitchell is also charged with unlawful possession of an explosive device, while the two are facing other charges from the Valleyview robbery.
Mitchell appeared in court on June 26th and will remain in police custody until his next hearing on July 10th. Baytha was released on a $3,000 no cash recognizance and will be back in court on the same day.
RCMP are still looking for a third suspect in both robberies. 21 year old Daniel Tanner Bigcharles of High Prairie is wanted for several robbery and weapons offences. If the public sees him, they’re told not to approach and to instead call local police.
