Fort St. John RCMP looking into aggravated assault

Fort St. John RCMP are investigating an aggravated assault that happened early on Canada Day. A 24 year old man told police that three men came into his house in the 8600 block of 83rd Street around 9 a.m.

Once inside, the men reportedly beat him up and stabbed him. The victim was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. He was released later that day.

The assault wasn’t reported until 5:35 p.m. and RCMP are still trying to figure out what happened between the time the man claims it happened and when police were notified. Anyone with information is asked to contact the detachment or Crime Stoppers.

It’s believed this was a targeted attack and that there is no risk to the public.
