All of the city’s grass playing fields have been closed due to excessive rain. Gym and Sport Field Supervisor Lori Goodman-Wilson says heavy rain has accumulated on the fields, and they can be damaged if used.
Staff will re-assess the situation tomorrow morning. The CKC West Artificial Turf Field is not affected, as it has its own drainage system.
As of noon Wednesday, the Grande Prairie Airport has unofficially gotten 12.5 millimetres of rain since Tuesday morning.
