Officials are reminding people to stay out of the Pat’s Creek culvert after a dramatic rescue Friday. Peace River firefighters and EMS got reports of a young person trapped in the culvert in the middle of the afternoon.
The fire department and Alberta Health Services made their way through the culvert on foot, while members of the town’s Public Works department opened the space from the top. The youth was pulled out and taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Although the incident had a happy ending, the town, fire department, and AHS are stressing that Pat’s Creek culvert is off limits for anyone playing or walking.
