Arson suspect sketch released for Highland Park area fires

The sketch of the arson suspect for a string of Highland Park area fires has been released. Grande Prairie RCMP are looking for the man responsible for a fire that was sparked in the area of 90th Avenue and 99th Street on May 28th, 2017. It started with a vehicle then spread to a home around 3 a.m.

After the first fire was out, fire crews were called to a second house fire close by. A block away on 91st Avenue and 99th Street flames had broken out in an empty home that was under renovations. It also spread to the next door neighbour’s home.

Families from each home were able to make it out safely.

Both the Grande Prairie Fire Department and RCMP are investigating the cause of the fires, but they both appear to be arson. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police detachment or Crime Stoppers to stay anonymous.
