Two stolen motor boats found in rural areas

Two motor boats stolen from the Sandman Hotel Sunday morning have been found. Grande Prairie RCMP say both boats and their trailers were taken from the parking lot between 12 and 7 a.m. on June 18th.

The first was a 20 foot, red and yellow Ali-Craft with orange flames and the number 193 on its side. Its tandem axle trailer was black. The second boat was an 18 foot, white and red 2002 Seadoo Challenger 1800 with a white single axle trailer.

With help from the public, police found the Ali-Craft in the rural Grande Prairie area, and the Seadoo and its trailer in the Beaverlodge area Tuesday morning. They will be returned to their rightful owners.

RCMP are still investigating the thefts and invite anyone with information to contact the detachment or Crime Stoppers. The Capstan Hauling Rat 200 Jet Boat Race was held on the Wapiti River over the weekend.
