A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview region. Environment Canada says we could see severe thunderstorms complete with strong winds, large hail and heavy rain.
Large hail can damage property and cause injuries, while lightning injures and kills people in Canada every year. Residents are reminded that severe thunderstorms can also produce tornadoes, and they should head indoors if they hear thunder.
