Stephen tWitch Boss to teach Grande Prairie dancers

As seen on “So You Think You Can Dance”, Stephen tWitch Boss is spending the weekend in Grande Prairie. Joined by Eddie “Neptune” Eskridge of season 12, tWitch will be hosting Hip Hop Master Classes as well as be the special guest at The Academy Grande Prairie’s gala event.

As his furthest trip, he says it is always fun and beneficial coming to smaller communities.

“The art form of dance and the community of dance has given me so much direction in my life. It would be ridiculously selfish of me not to come back and do something like this.”

The duo answered questions from students at the The Academy Friday afternoon. For young dancers that are looking to move up, he explains that growing up in a small town is no longer a problem in getting noticed because of social media. Neptune explains that he started to try and get noticed before social media was huge. Getting in front of real audiences and meeting people used to be the way to get connections.

“Social media started popping and I started using that too as a platform for battles, choreography and other classes. If you can’t go to the bigger cities, use your social media. You have friends that support you and they can share it.”

The Academy will be having two Hip Hop Master Classes going Saturday, June 10th and Sunday, June 11th in the city hosted by tWitch. On Saturday evening, a gala event will be held.

“I hope they leave fueled with passion. This weekend was very big on the word passion and it is just that. I want them to leave with that feeling that I remember leaving workshops with. I want to open up a whole new world of inspiration and drive.”

Tickets for both events are available at the Revolution Place box office.
