City to award final phase of road rehab work

The city is looking at Wapiti Gravel Suppliers Ltd. as the crew that would take on Phase 4 of the 2017 Road Rehabilitation and Overlay work. Their bid came in at $1,565,972.44 to take on the final phase of the construction in Grande Prairie.

The work is to extend the life and improve the quality of the roads. Crews will be taking off the paving and then installing new asphalt. There will also be catch basin repairs and concrete spot repairs.

Phase four of the annual road work program goes in 100 Avenue from 105 Street to 108 Street. There will also be some work done in Mission Park area.

The entire program runs from June to October 2017.

City council will look at awarding the tender at the next city council meeting. There has been $8,000,000 put aside in the budget for the 2017 Road Rehabilitation & Overlay project.
