Grande Prairie Drillers founder recognized

The Grande Prairie Drillers Football team retired jersey number 23 on Saturday at the Legion Field. During a pregame ceremony for their season opener, past and current players paid tribute to James Kostuk and all he has done for the organization.

He was the founder of the team and president in 2004 the Drillers joined the Alberta Football League. He played until 2015 when he became the defensive coach in 2016. During his tenure, he held top ranks for knockdowns and blocked kicks.
