Ambrose admired for leadership by MP Warkentin

Grande Prairie McKenzie MP Chris Warkentin is hoping the next leader of the Tories can pick up where Rona Ambrose has left off. The Valleyview born MP announced she would be leaving federal politics last week. Ambrose is set to resign her seat when the House of Commons rises for the summer.

“It has been announced that she is going to be working with a think-tank on a part time basis in Washington. I think she is going to be looking for opportunities. She intends to come back to Alberta to settle down with her family in Calgary. We are excited for what the future holds for her.”

Warkentin explains that he has always looked up to her leadership and the way she carried herself through politics.

“Rona has done a really good job of connecting with people from coast to coast. I hope the next leader can build on that.”

Ambrose will take the summer off to decompress before starting at her new position in the States.

Warkentin has an idea for who he will be putting his support behind for the new leader, but that he won’t be releasing until after the House rises.
