One killed in train versus pickup truck crash

One man is dead and another in hospital after a pickup truck hit a train in Taylor, B.C. Fort St. John RCMP say the crash happened at a controlled crossing at about 12:15 this morning.

When officers arrived, they found a pickup truck in the ditch fully engulfed in flames. Once they were put out, the remains of a 21 year old man were found inside. His name is not being released. Another 21 year old man has been transported to a hospital in the lower B.C. mainland with unknown injuries.

The driver of the truck was arrested at the scene, but has since been released. Police say their investigation into the cause of the crash is still in its “very early stages”, but it’s believed the driver had been drinking alcohol.
