Still no timeline for Beaverlodge health facility plans

There’s still no word on when the Town of Beaverlodge will be getting its new health facility. Minister of Health Sarah Hoffman was in the community in February to announce land for the project had been donated. However, when pressed by Grande Prairie – Wapiti MLA Wayne Drysdale in Question Period Tuesday, she could only say it’s still on their radar.

“Absolutely the residents of Beaverlodge have worked hard and have advocated long for the community and their health care needs to be met over many years, and we are happy, Mr. Speaker, to ensure that we are moving forward with plans to ensure that Beaverlodge does get a new facility at some point.”

Infrastructure Minister Brian Mason confirmed there’s $2.4 million in his ministry’s budget for the design of rural health facilities. He says they’re almost done standardizing the documents and processes for the planning and development of those future projects.
