GPRC reaches partnership agreement with Mounties

Representatives from Grande Prairie Regional College and the RCMP are calling a recently signed Academic Partnership Agreement a ‘win-win’ for both parties. RCMP say it will enhance their ability to find innovative ways to plan and direct enforcement and education programs. And Dr Bruce Rutley with the Centre for Research and Innovation sees a number of benefits for the college through this agreement.
“First of all it is a recognition of our ability to conduct research and contribute to helping organizations and businesses receive answers to their research questions.  And it also is an opportunity for faculty members to engage in research and get their students involved in research.”
He adds it will give the students a chance to learn answers to real world problems, right within their own community, instead of reading examples out of a textbook from another community.
