Alberta Party leader in region to raise profile of party

The Alberta Party has set a very lofty goal towards forming the provincial government by 2020. Leader Greg Clark is introducing his party to residents of the Peace region, with stops in Valleyview yesterday, Grande Prairie today, and Peace River tomorrow. He says step one of the plan includes having their first MLA’s elected in the 2016 provincial election, and using the next four years after that to build the trust of Albertans. He adds a huge step towards those goals is getting their name out around the province.

“I have put almost 40 thousand kilometres on my car here in the first eight months of being the leader. And that is how you do it.  You talk to people where they live, you ask them what is on their mind and then you turn that into good, compelling policy that makes sense to people, and that is long term and a vision and a plan for the long term for the province.”

Clark adds they plan to run candidates in every constituency in the next election, but only if they can find strong candidates in each one, adding they will not ‘parachute’ candidates into a constituency just for the sake of having someone running.
