County fire fighters have had to rescue horses that were stuck in mud for the second time in two weeks. At around noon yesterday, County Regional Fire Service crews were called to Highway 670 west of Range Road 34 where a draft horse was stuck. Fire fighters used their specialized large animal rescue training. That horse is under examination from a veterinarian.
Last weekend, crews were called to Highway 43 and Township Road 114 to help get seven horses out of the mud. Three of those horses didn’t make it.
