City Scrub starts in May

Spring cleaning is in the air as the annual City Scrub takes place early May. From Friday May 5th to May 14th, the city is inviting people to help clean up the community.

Volunteers will spend 20 minutes of their time cleaning up a neighbourhood. The event is held concurrently with the Rotary Green-a-thon which is held the first Saturday of the month.

Registration is open on the city’s website. The cleaning supplies will be available at City Hall, Aquatera’s Customer Billing, Muskoseepi Park Pavilion, Eastlink Centre, The Eco Centre, Burger King, Farmer’s Market, Tito’s Bistro, and Good to Grow. If you plan to clean in a group, the city would like 4 days notice to be able to have supplies ready for pick up.

The bags of garbage can be left at the curbside for regular garbage day in any neighbourhood.

The event has been running since 2005.
