Special needs and senior groups get funds

Fifteen community groups are getting some funding from the county. There was over $128,000 approved for non-profit senior and special needs organizations around the region for transportation.

The Disabled Transportation got the biggest chunk of the funding at $75,000. Family and Community Support Services County Seniors and Adult Program Lead Coree Ladwig says this funding allows residents to get to recreational activities, medical appointments, and social events.

Hythe & District Pioneer Homes, Grande Spirit Foundation and Golden Years Club of Bezanson were among the others that got money from the county.

The funding is part of the Senior and Special Needs Transportation Grant Program.
