Grande Prairie man leads police on chase near Jasper

A Grande Prairie man is facing charges after resisting arrest by Jasper RCMP. On April 20th, police were doing a traffic stop when they came across the 41 year old that was impaired while driving. He was told that he was under arrest resisted and actively fought the officers. A conducted energy weapon was used but unsuccessful.

The man fled but was located and after failing to stop, the police used a tire deflation device. The suspect continued driving for a short while on flat tires but eventually came to a stop where officers were able to take him into custody.

The suspect is facing numerous charges including assault on a police officer with a weapon.
