UPDATE: Two dead in head on collision on Highway 2

UPDATE: RCMP responded to a head on collision between two trucks. The 34 year old driver of the northbound truck from Grande Prairie was pronounced dead at the scene. A 38 year old Worsley man was in the southbound truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the southbound truck and a second man were brought to hospital by EMS with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

UPDATE 2: RCMP say traffic has resumed on the northbound lane of highway 2. There are delays expected for the next few hours. A collision analyst is on the scene and the investigation into what happened continues.

UPDATE: STARS Air Ambulance says two vehicles collided at the intersection. A 23 year old man was transported to the QE II Hospital by helicopter.

RCMP have confirmed a collison on Highway 2 earlier this morning was fatal. It happened in the intersection of Township Road 750 and Highway 2.

Police are investigating what happened and will give more information once they know more. The South and north bound lanes are currently closed while they investigate. Officers recommend finding another route until they are finished.

STARS Air Ambulance responded to the collision along with other emergency vehicles around 7:30 am on Thursday, April 13th.
