Province gives money to five projects in the peace

A handful of projects in the peace country have received some funding from the province. Through the Community and Regional Economic Support program, over $238,000 will go into the community for five different projects.

Valleyview has received just under $29,000 for their Grow Valleyview Local Economic Development Strategy. The Little Smoky Ski Area Feasibility Study in the MD of Smoky River received $10,000. The MD of Peace received just over $159,000 for their Oats and Grains Processing Project. The Saddle Hills County got $25,000 fortheir Rural Ventures Cooperative Project while the town of Grimshaw got $15,000 for their Industrial Profile Analysis and Marketing Project.

Minister Deron Bilous says this money will help areas conquer their plans when they might not have been able to alone otherwise. Applications are open for the second round of CARES program funds with the deadline set for May 31st. You can find the application process on the government’s website.
