RCMP officer hit by quad near Fort St John

After some dangerous driving by two men on quads, a 32 year old has been remanded into custody. On Saturday April 8th, reports came into RCMP about two ATV’s driving at high speeds from Taylor on the Alaska Highway towards Fort St John. They were slowed down by someone driving a pick up truck when police arrived.

Officers were able to catch one driver. The other driver hit an RCMP officer before escaping. The man they were able to stop was identified and he was already facing 7 criminal code charges including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property and impaired driving. He was brought back into custody and is set to appear in court.

The police officer suffered minor injuries.
