A small fire broke out at one of Baytex Energy’s pad sites in Reno Monday. The company says the flames broke out at the engine skid used to power the well head equipment around 12:30 p.m. Emergency crews were called in and the blaze was put out.
No injuries or spills have been reported, and Baytex says its storage tanks weren’t compromised. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and both the Alberta Energy Regulator and Occupation Health and Safety have been notified.
A fire and explosion broke out at another one of Baytex’s sites in the Reno area in July 2016.
