Two candidates in the running for Alberta Liberal leadership

Two people are officially in the running for leadership of the Alberta Liberal Party. Both are lawyers from Calgary, and have been approved by the party to run.

The first is Kerry Cundal, a woman who was the Liberal candidate for the Calgary Signal Hill riding in the 2015 election. The second is David Khan, who was the Liberal candidate in Calgary West during the 2014 byelection and 2015 general election.

The two will first square off at a debate in Calgary on April 8th, and then in Edmonon on May 6th. Party members will choose a leader through an online voting system from May 27th through June 3rd, with the choice announced on June 4th.

St. Albert mayor Nolan Crouse had previously announced he would be running, but pulled out of the race last week, calling it a private decision.
