GPPL unveils Most Wanted collection

A six month pilot project at the Grande Prairie Public Library is receiving rave reviews in its early stages. The Most Wanted collection sees popular bestselling books and movies made available on a grab and go basis, instead of users having to be placed on a waiting list before getting to loan it. Library head of Adult Services Kelly Dickinson describes how they determine what articles make the Most Wanted list.
“We look up the best seller lists from the Globe and Mail, Chapters, and Amazon. We will use lists like that to determine, as well as looking at our holds on different titles.”
Dickinson says they will likely add new titles on a monthly basis, in order to keep the list fresh and not have the same books or movies on there for several months.
