Arrest made in Grimshaw shooting

RCMP have arrested a man accused in a shooting near Grimshaw last month. The night of February 12th, the man who was shot was found in a local store, having locked himself in its bathroom.

When police arrived, they found a vehicle in the parking lot with its windows smashed out. It’s believed the victim had been lured to the spot where he was shot, and that this wasn’t a random attack. The man is still in hospital recovering.

Dustin Tyler St. Laurent has since been charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and aggravated assault, along with weapons offences, mischief, resisting arrest and breaching recognizance. He was charged on March 10th and will appear in Peace River court on the 27th.

Staff Sergeant Brent Meyer says the incident is still under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact Peace Regional RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
