No word yet on future of Grande Prairie HMV

We still don’t know if the former HMV location in the Prairie Mall will be replaced with Sunrise Records. The Ontario-based music store released the locations of 29 spots across Canada it will be taking over Thursday, but more are expected to be announced on March 20th.

HMV went into receivership earlier this year, but it didn’t take long for Sunrise to announce it would be snapping up 70 of their properties. So far in Alberta we know they’ll be moving in to the West Edmonton Mall, two paces in Edmonton, and ones in Fort McMurray, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat.

Those locations should open in April. The plan is to place a major focus on vinyl and to expand the clothing section.
