After going into the New Year with only 6 board members, the Grande Prairie and District SPCA is now up to 10. The group also now has an elected president.
James Kostuk was named to the position this week. He says the group is excited to move the organization forward and to hopefully re-open the SPCA. Kostuk is also the Fire Marshal for the Grande Prairie Fire Department
At the end of December, the group had gotten their CRA debt down to about $44,000. Community based fundraisers are taking place to raise funds with the board putting on their first major fundraiser of the year in February at the Canadian Brewhouse raising $7500.
