68 Avenue bridge construction starting up again soon

It’s a sign that spring is coming: crews are getting ready to start work on the 68th Avenue bridge again. Construction first got underway at the end of February 2016 and was scheduled to wrap up in November.

However, like the rest of the 68 Avenue twinning project, wet weather led to major delays. The new portion of the $6.4 million dollar bridge couldn’t be used this winter, so drivers used the old part.

In getting ready to finish construction, workers will be clearing snow and cleaning up the site. Traffic won’t be affected. A schedule for construction should be set this week. Work twinning the rest of the road will start back up later on, with $370,000 added to its budget.
