Armed man asks for help at Grande Prairie motel

Reports of a man with a gun led police to a local motel this morning. A guest told RCMP the man had knocked on his door and asked for help. He then pulled out what looked to be a gun and left the room.

Mounties were called to the motel across from the Prairie Mall around 9:30 a.m. but couldn’t find the suspect. However, they were later tipped off to his location and the man was arrested for outstanding warrants.

A gun hasn’t been found, but the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
