Alberta STARS Lottery ticket sales low

Today is the early bird deadline for the Alberta STARS Lottery and they need your help. Spokesperson for STARS Cam Heke says they were down ticket sales last year at about this time but they are falling behind about 20 per cent more than that this year. Through the fundraiser they are sitting at around 75 per cent sold.

This is the organizations largest fundraiser and they look to make about $11 million to support communities they work in. Heke says these funds are important for having pilots and flight nurses flown out to emergencies in each community. Grande Prairie’s STARS crew does around 300 to 400 flights in the region every year.

There are 760,000 tickets printed for the lottery. If you buy your ticket today, you can get in on a chance to win $50,000 cash or a truck and trailer. You can visit their website to buy tickets.
