Storm can clinch playoff spot with one more win

Thanks to two big wins over Sherwood Park this weekend, the Grande Prairie Storm now have sole possession of sixth place in the AJHL’s North Division. If they win one of their last two games, they’ll clinch a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2013. A loss by the Lloydminster Bobcats would do the same.

Cruise Cote netted the game winner in Friday’s 7-5 victory, and then Dallas Comeau was the overtime hero in Saturday’s 4-3 win, both over the Sherwood Park Crusaders. The Storm will host that team again next Friday and the Bonnyville Pontiacs on Saturday. They are two points up on the Drayton Valley Thunder and three on the Bobcats.
