UPDATE: Fort St. John middle school no longer under hold and secure

UPDATE #2: The hold and secure at Dr. Kearney has been lifted. According to energeticcity.ca, RCMP are investigating threats made on social media.

UPDATE: School District 60 has classified this as a hold and secure situation, and not a hold and secure as reported by RCMP. In a hold and secure, staff and students are kept inside and the doors to the school are locked but classes go on as usual.

A middle school in Fort St. John has been put on lockdown. RCMP say they are responding to an incident involving Dr. Kearney School, but what has happened hasn’t been disclosed.

The building is on lockdown as a precautionary measure, and parents are asked not to come to the school. We’ll update when we learn more.
