Trial set for men accused in large drug bust

Two men will stand trial after being charged in a large drug bust in Grande Prairie in 2015. Abdikarim Farah and Arte Abdille Jama will be in court in December 2017.

The two were arrested almost two years ago after police executed four search warrants. RCMP searched an apartment in the Cobblestone area and another near 82nd Avenue and 97th Street. Two vehicles were also included in their search.

Officers seized over 400 thousand dollars in cash along with 915 grams of cocaine, 507 fentanyl pills, 10 ounces of crystal meth and 2 ounces of heroin. They also found evidence of drug trafficking.

Jama was charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.

Farah was charged with one count of possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000 as well as one county of breach of recognizance.

The two will be in court from December 5th to 8th to stand trial.
