Local hockey player inks WHL deal

A young hockey player from Grande Prairie has signed a deal with a WHL team. 15 year old Kjell Kjemhus is now officially a member of the Regina Pats Hockey Club, after getting drafted by the team in the fourth round last year.

Kjemhus has played out of the Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy in Kelowna, B.C. since 2014, and is on the prep team this season. In nine games in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League he’s recorded four assists.

The forward got his start with the Grande Prairie Minhas Brothers Trucking peewee double-A Knights and made the 2016 Alberta Cup team.
