It’s not a secret that there are a lot of challenges facing the youth of today. It’s not often said what we can do about it! I don’t know about you, but there are young people living right here in Grande Prairie that I love and care about. I am excited to share that there’s a conference coming up to deal with some of the issues they’re facing like: sexting, body image, drugs and alcohol, and more!

Friday Feb 24th at 7pm: “Life’s Challenges in Secondary School”
Cost: FREE
Join us Friday evening for a powerful keynote address by Dwayne Peace (lifesynergy4youth.com), entitled “Life’s Challenges in Secondary School” where he speaks to issues that are affecting many youth on a daily basis including, but not limited to:
Body image, substance abuse, bullying, cyber-bullying, suicide, texting, sexting, cliques, isolation, self-harm, rumors, gossip and drama.
Dwayne will discuss the impact these issues can have even into adulthood.
Saturday Feb 25th 8:30am to 4:30pm
Cost: $10 (includes lunch)
Saturday’s full day will feature topics important to anyone who loves and supports the youth of our community. Topics include:
Sexting, Impaired & Distracted Driving, Addictions: Drugs & Alcohol, 40 Developmental Assets along with an additional session by Keynote Speaker Dwayne Peace entitled “Inside Youth”.
