COPA for Kids takes first time fliers to the skies

120 Peace Region kids got a bird’s eye view of the Beaverlodge area this weekend, thanks to the generosity of local pilots.

COPA (Canadian Owners and Pilots Association) for Kids is an annual event that takes place across the country, to help introduce kids flying.

This was the second event in Beaverlodge, which doubled in size from last year.

Organizer Teresa Boudreault says many of the pilots who volunteered their time and planes for the day simply want to give kids the same opportunity they may have had when they were young, to get up in the sky and get a feel for what aviation is all about.
